Goreala - Metaphor za Mtaa
Release: October 4th 2008

No-one declares that hip-hop is the province of liberal thought, but it has unquestionably taken it’s place on the world stage as a legitimate form of social expression and as a reflection of an aspect of today’s society. Hip-hop offers a way out those trapped in the violence of the ghetto, and rapper Goreala seized the opportunity. He grew up in a tough neighbourhood, and his music reflects his own personal story. His tough, direct-from-the-streets approach deals with the problems that he and his peers face on a daily basis. When his emergent free-styling skills became known in Nairobi, he became a sought-after performer in local clubs and began to create his own productions.
